Bacon miasma

OK, here is a Dish Dude tip.  If using the filled-basin-technique for a pre-soak (can be effective – not my personal style, but I’ve seen it done well) ensure that you do not toss in the used microwave bacon cooking tray still glistening with grease.  For here is what will happen: the grease shall come off of said microwave cooking tray and get into the big basin of water, and since oil (nee grease) doesn’t mix with water, it creates a gloppy level of bacon grease that gets all over everything sitting in the sink.  And if your Chef Wife happens to have made tomato soup with a big fancy food mill with a bunch of different complex grater parts, all of which are soaking in the pre-soak water, they then will become thoroughly covered with a thin patina of said bacon grease.  Which makes one’s Dish Dude duties far more complex.  That said, I now smell like bacon (could be worse) and my dish hands feel well moisturized.  Silver lining.
